The Collection

Our collection ranges across new stories, classic children's literature, and our adaptations of myths and histories. The tone of the stories ranges from factual, to magical, zany and modern.

The classics are drawn from the works of authors including Hans Christian Andersen, The Brothers Grimm, Charles Perrault, Lewis Carroll, and Rudyard Kipling.

Our original stories are written by Hugh Fraser and Matthew Lynn. We also hugely value Natasha's input when it comes to character development. A typical length of a story is 2000 to 2500 words or about 15 minutes of audio.

Storynory enjoys a feedback mechanism which would be the envy of many authors. Within about 24 hours of publishing a story we start to receive comments on the site about it. Some stories now have over 100 comments. We know which went down well... and which bombed. Fortunately, most of the feedback is positive.

Our core audience is between 6 and 10 years old, but we know that our stories have an appeal way outside that range. We often receive comment along the lines of "I am 22 but I enjoyed that story." One listener told us that he was 90 years old.

Storynory's mascot - and the star of over 20 original stories - is Prince Bertie the Frog, a modern royal who has unfortunately been forced to retire to the pond at the bottom of the palace gardens.

Our other popular strands include The Ordinary Witch, Jack and the Pirates, The Monkey Who Loved Chocolate, Gladys and the chiX, Robin Hood, The Lives of the Saints, and Greek Myths
