Privacy
On November 1 2025 Storynory relaunched its website with a new design that does not include progmatic advertising. (We have always used COPPA compliant advertising though Google’s child-directed flag). Part of our aim in making this sacrifice in revenue was to enhance privacy and user experience to the highest standards that we are able to achieve.
🌍 Who We Are
Storynory is a UK-based website and podcast that publishes free audio stories for children and families. Our website address is https://www.storynory.com.

👧 Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Storynory is created for children and families, but we do not collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
- We do not request names, email addresses, or any identifying information from children.
- We do not serve behavioural advertising or use tracking cookies.
- Parents or guardians can contact us at any time to ask questions or request removal of any information.
Storynory fully complies with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
📱 Apps
We currently do not offer any apps in the main web stores. We have done so in the past via our podcast host Libsyn, but Libsyn has now withdrawn this service to its customers.
We are aware of unofficial apps using the name “Storynory” or “StoryNory” in various app stores. These apps are not affiliated with or endorsed by us.
On our own site, we do offer a small web app that can be installed on some platforms, including Chrome and Android. This app provides a convenient home-screen icon and quick shortcuts to stories. It collects no data, sets no cookies, and does not use service workers.
💖 Supporters and Shout-Outs
Parents and guardians who support Storynory through platforms such as PayPal or Patreon may optionally request a first-name shout-out for their child in one of our audio stories.
We also run story-writing competitions from time to time with shout-outs as rewards.
We confirm each request directly with the parent before publication. Only the child’s first name is used.
Payment details are processed securely by the relevant payment platform (for example, PayPal or Patreon) in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Storynory does not receive or store any payment card information.
🔒 3. Data We Collect (Minimal Technical Data)
When you visit our website, our hosting and security systems may process a small amount of technical information such as browser type and operating system..
We do not log or store real visitor IP addresses in our web server logs.
Our infrastructure is protected by Cloudflare, which acts as a security and performance layer. Cloudflare’s servers anonymise traffic

We regularly review our privacy and data-handling practices to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and transparency.
🍪 Cookies
We do not use advertising, tracking, or remarketing cookies on our public website. The only cookies in use are essential ones required for site administration (for example, when an editor logs into our content management system).
These functional cookies are never used to identify visitors, track behaviour, or share data with third parties.
Non-admin visitors should never receive a cookie.
Because we use only essential admin cookies, no cookie banner or pop-up is necessary.
💬 Social Media
Storynory maintains official social media accounts (for example, on Facebook, Instagram, and similar platforms) to share updates with parents, teachers, and adult listeners.
These platforms are intended for adults, not for direct interaction with children.
Any data collected through social media is governed by the respective platform’s own privacy policy.
We encourage parents and teachers to supervise children’s access to social media.
Our YouTube channel is recognised by Google as a children’s channel and is subject to their enhanced restrictions for young people’s privacy.
