If you have an iPhone or iPhone Touch, and if you enjoy Storynory, then you will probably like our app. It’s been created by our partner Wizzard Media and Storynory receives a third of the list price of $2.99 so you are helping us too when you buy it. (It’s here in the Apple store).
We’ve just added our first piece of bonus content – a 15 minute story read by Natasha which you can’t hear anywhere else. It’s a cute story which we dug out of our secret store of treasures specially for the app. We are going to be adding more bonus content regularly including factual pieces – such as short talks on topics of interest to kids including dragons, dinosaurs, famous children’s authors, sport, history…. There will also be some short fables, rhymes, twisters – an eclectic collection of little goodies posted once a week.
If you use our app, you receive our latest story without syncing your iPhone or iPod. Each story comes with a PDF with the full text of the story and a picture which you can download as wallpaper for your device. Just look under extras on individual episodes to find these.
It’s early days for our app. Apparently it’s selling well in Asia. We’ve had a couple of harsh reviews in the US page of the app store. One says it doesn’t work. Well it does. The other bemoans the lack of bonus content – which is a fairer comment – but it’s there now. If you enjoy our app, we would really appreciate it if you say something nice about it in the store to redress these comments. It’s quite an effort to produce a free story every week, let alone bonus content. It’s all a bit of a labour of love, and we want happy customers. There’s no other reason to do Storynory.
Would love to download for my kids. Only a couple of problems.. In Family Fun Magazine (where I heard about you) it says your app is Free. You say it is a Free on your website. You description asks for kind reviews because it is an effort and labor of love to put out at new Free book each week. So I am a bit confused… Everywhere it says Free and then when you go to the App Store it says $2.99 please…. I’m sorry when did Free = $2.99?
There isn’t even a “lite” version to try and see if my kids even like it. Yes I would have downloaded it if it was Free (as advertised) but since this seems to be a bit of a “bait and switch” advertising ploy, I think I’ll pass. You may have a great product/service but I don’t support such tactics. Best of luck to you and those who don’t mind being mislead and buy your app anyway.

Dear Heather, There are hundreds of free stories here, which you can download directly from the site, or via the podcast and various podcast apps. The app you are talking about is not actually made by us, but by our audio host. You don’t actually need it. I find your comment about “bait and switch” ignorant and offensive, and I would be happy if you go elsewhere for your audio stories and books which you will find are very expensive elsewhere.
