Apollo – the Greek God of the Sun and Music
Apollo is the Greek god of the Sun. Every day he rides his chariot across the skies pulling the sun and lighting up the world.
Apollo has many other forms. He is the god of music and is often depicted playing a harp. He is associated with both healing and illness. In the Trojan War (Book 1 of the Iliad) he fires his arrows into the Greek camp, spreading plague among the soldiers.
Prophesy is another of his arts. He is the god of the Delphic Oracle where many greeks sought advice about the future. He is also the god of the oracle on the island of Delos.
Apollo is filed under Who's Who of the Greek Gods.
